Our team
Ravi Sohal is our resident Optometrist. He graduated from the University of Cardiff in 2001, and was awarded the title MCOptom by the College of Optometrist in 2002. He is registered with the General Optical Council (GOC), the Association of Optometrist (AOP), the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) and the National Health Service (NHS).
Ravi’s training and experience involved working in high street optical practices and within the NHS hospital eye service. He received extensive training in contact lenses, ocular disease and vision correction.
In 2003 Ravi started working on a part-time basis at the Blackheath Eyecare Centre. When the owners retired he took over the practice with the support of his family and friends.
Ever since Ravi’s ownership the practice has undergone extensive modernisation. He has made a significant investment in technology and continues to do so. We have implemented the latest digital imaging equipment, computerised test charts and visual field equipment.
Debbie is our Practice Manager and has over 20 years of management experience. She is a bright, bubbly person and an excellent organiser. Debbie also has considerable experience in helping people to choose the right spectacles to suit them.
Suzy is our experienced Dispensing Optician who qualified in 1980. She has a vast knowledge of lenses and frames along with a very caring approach to patients.
Veena is our Trainee Optical Assistant and the most recent member of the team. She is renowned for being red hot on quality control and ensuring that patients are kept up to date with the progress of their spectacle orders.
Sue and Delphine, our Optical Receptionists became part of the team in 2003 and 2004. They both are responsible for running the busy reception desk.
