Free Contact Lens Comfort Trial
- You will need to have a current prescription. E.g. a spectacle prescription that is less than a year old. If you need to book an eye test click here.
- The initial assessment and comfort trial is free. If you decide not to proceed after this visit no charge will be made.
- If you going on to an extended trial we will give another supply of free trial lenses along with full fitting and aftercare instructions. We do not make a charge for the products. However, a fitting and further consultation fee will apply for our professional time.

We don’t believe in having offers that are loaded with restrictions for our patients. Most opticians have offers on a second pair of spectacles; they normally restrict you to a small selection of poor quality frames and lenses. You also have to choose both the pairs at the same time, which can be overwhelming. However, at the Blackheath Eyecare Centre our second pair offer is very flexible without such limitations. Our conditions are listed below:-
- The second pair can be purchased any time within six months of the first pair.
- The second pair can be from any of our frame ranges including sunglasses.
- Both pairs of spectacles need to be to the same prescription.
- The discount will be given on the lower priced spectacles.
- This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or voucher.
Free Glasses for Kids
Courtesy of the NHS eye tests for children are free of charge. We also stock an extensive range of children frames free of charge under the NHS optical voucher scheme. We also supply a number of children’s character and designer frames at a subsidised price.
Free eye test for the over 60’s
Courtesy of the NHS eye tests for the over 60’s are free. This will include a Glaucoma check.
Price Promise
Our charges are competitive so should you find the identical complete pair of spectacles sold cheaper elsewhere at a local opticians practice we will refund the difference. This offer excludes sale or discontinued spectacles.

August 08 - Vision Aid Overseas Support
Can you imagine the look of joy on peoples’ faces that have had their sight restored? Millions of people in the developing world are denied even the basic opportunity to see properly. This is just because they to not have a pair of glasses. Being able to see properly does more than provide good sight it enables people to work and look after their families.
Vision Aid Overseas is a UK charity dedicated to helping people in the developing world whose lives are blighted by poor eye sight, particularly in those cases where spectacles can help. Blackheath Eyecare Centre supports their work by collecting unwanted spectacles from our patients that are then forwarded directly to the charity.
March 2008 - Patient Survey Results
Follow an analysis of our new patients over the last year we are pleased to announce that over 97% of our new patients came from the recommendations of existing patients. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our patients for recommending us. In recognition of this support we will be launching a "Recommend a friend reward scheme" in the near future.
