What lens design and coating should I have?
There are a number of different lens designs to consider when considering prescription lenses. The following gives an insight into some of the options available.
Nikon Premium
Nikon Premium
Nikon Premium lens was created from the Nikon camera lens. This was developed to take high definition images with less image distortion. The result is a more natural and clearer vision compared to standard lenses.
The aspheric design of the lens also makes them thinner, lighter and flatter than the spherical standard lenses.
They also have come with a premium anti-reflection coating called ‘Ikon’. This coating includes an anti-scratch, water repellent and easy clean coating.
Nikon Basic
Nikon Basic
Nikon basic prescription lens which has a hydrophobic anti-reflective coating which provides good scratch resistance.
Ideal for those wanting affordable quality.
Nikon Bespoke / Seemax
Nikon Bespoke / Seemax – 18 months scratch guarantee.
The Nikon seemax lens represents the latest in lens technology available. They are of a double aspheric design and are completely custom made for the wearer.
This technology reduces aberration and distortion that occur with higher prescriptions. They are beneficial for individuals who have high prescriptions or who want the best quality vision from their glasses.
They also come with the Nikon Seecoat anti- reflection coating which includes a 18 month scratch guarantee.
Nikon Elite
Nikon Elite – 18 months scratch guarantee
These lenses are available in aspheric and double aspheric design which helps reduce aberrations giving excellent optical performance.
They also come with the newest of Nikon’s lenses coating technology (Nikon Seecoat). The unique technology employed in the SeeCoat gives the lenses the highest scratch resistance properties around; providing clear vision over an extended period of the lens’ life.
The Nikon Elite range comes with an 18 months scratch guarantee. The SeeCoat also has excellent water repellent qualities that allow a high resistance to finger prints and dirt accumulation. This makes them far easier to clean, staying cleaner for up to two times longer than conventional coatings. They also have an enhanced UV filter on the back surface of the lens.
