Appointment Cancellation Policy

You are very important to us at Blackheath Eyecare. We are committed to providing all of our patients with exceptional care. When a patient cancels without giving enough notice, they prevent another patient from being seen.

Please call us at 020 3051060 by 2:00pm on the day prior to your scheduled appointment to notify us of any changes or cancellations.

If prior notification is not given or the appointment is missed a cancellation fee may be charged. Any subsequent appointment a £55 deposit will be taken at point of booking to secure your appointment with the Optometrist.

We do, of course, understand that unavoidable issues come up and will do our best to work with you in case of an emergency.

As a courtesy, we do contact you to confirm the date and time of your appointment. However please understand that it is your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times in order to avoid missed appointments and cancellation fees. You are always welcome to call and double check any appointments if you’re unsure.

Our goal in communicating our cancellation and failed to attend policy is to avoid any extra charges being passed on to the patient.

Late Policy

We will always try our best to accommodate you if you’re running behind, stuck in traffic, etc.

However, if you are late it can affect the remainder of patients who come in on time.

For this reason, we have set a few general ground rules for such situations.

We generally allow a 5 minute grace period. If we are able to complete all the appropriate tests, great! If not, you may have to reschedule part of your tests. This will allow us to continue to our allocated time slots for the next patient to ensure they are not kept waiting for their appointment.

Please, always call if you even think you might be late; we’d rather know as early as possible so we can do our best to fit you in without upsetting the flow of the day.

If the patient arrives late but within the allotted time, but has to forgo some part of the tests 100% of the booked appointment charge will apply and a further appointment scheduled to complete the remaining tests will be charged accordingly.

If the patient does not arrive in time for the service to be completed, a deposit of £55 will be taken to secure a further appointment with the Optometrist.

Again, please remember that your appointments are reserved for you and only you.

These policies allow us the opportunity to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding
