Nikon Premium

Nikon Premium lens was created from the Nikon camera lens. This was developed to take high definition images with less image distortion. The result is a more natural and clearer vision compared to standard lenses.

The aspheric design of the lens also makes them thinner, lighter and flatter than the spherical standard lenses.

They also have come with a premium anti-reflection coating called ‘Ikon’. This coating includes an anti-scratch, water repellent and easy clean coating.

Nikon Bespoke / Seemax

Nikon Bespoke / Seemax – 18 months scratch guarantee.

The Nikon seemax lens represents the latest in lens technology available. They are of a double aspheric design and are completely custom made for the wearer.

This technology reduces aberration and distortion that occur with higher prescriptions. They are beneficial for individuals who have high prescriptions or who want the best quality vision from their glasses.

They also come with the Nikon Seecoat anti- reflection coating which includes a 18 month scratch guarantee.

Nikon Basic

Nikon basic prescription lens which has a hydrophobic anti-reflective coating which provides good scratch resistance.

Ideal for those wanting affordable quality.

Nikon Elite

Nikon Elite – 18 months scratch guarantee

These lenses are available in aspheric and double aspheric design which helps reduce aberrations giving excellent optical performance.

They also come with the newest of Nikon’s lenses coating technology (Nikon Seecoat). The unique technology employed in the SeeCoat gives the lenses the highest scratch resistance properties around; providing clear vision over an extended period of the lens’ life.

The Nikon Elite range comes with an 18 months scratch guarantee. The SeeCoat also has excellent water repellent qualities that allow a high resistance to finger prints and dirt accumulation. This makes them far easier to clean, staying cleaner for up to two times longer than conventional coatings. They also have an enhanced UV filter on the back surface of the lens.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION ON PRESCRIPTION LENSES

What lens index should I choose?

There are four main categories of lenses. The type of lenses you need depend on the strength of your prescription, the type of frame and your individual visual requirements. High index lenses are used on higher prescriptions to ensure that the final appearance of the glasses look cosmetically attractive. They also help to reduce the weight associated with thick lenses ensuring more comfortable glasses. 1.5 index lenses represent the standard lenses which are used for lower prescriptions. The next thinnest is 1.6, then 1.67 and the thinnest being 1.74.

1.5 index lenses (Standard Option)
  • Good for low prescriptions up to +/-2.50D
  • Includes anti-reflection and scratch resistance coating
